Gingerbread lane at Hyatt Regency

If you are Downtown during the winter holidays, stop by the Hyatt Regency Vancouver and experience their Gingerbread Lane. It’s located in the heart of Downtown and easily accessible from the Burrard Skytrain.
The gigantic centerpiece of Gingerbread Lane shows a building measuring 11 feet tall and 16 feet wide, using 500 pounds of gingerbread dough, 400 pounds of confectioners’ sugar and 1,400 egg whites. You can also see the Gastown Steam Clock in Gingerbread form. With the real Gastown Steam Clock under repair at the moment, this is as close as you will get to the real thing.
Local schools, culinary professionals and amateurs alike have contributed more than 30 individually crafted gingerbread creations, rounding out the sugary lavish displays. It’s free to enter and there are some outstanding gingerbread buildings.
The display runs in the Hyatt Regency Vancouver lobby, located at 655 Burrard Street, from Wednesday, December 3, 2014 through Thursday, January 1, 2015. Proceeds benefit Make-A-Wish Foundation in BC and the Yukon. Visit www.vancouver.hyatt.com and search under News and Events for more details.
