Iconic building set to change Vancouver skyline

Vancouver house is set to raise the bar for luxury residential property in British Columbia's largest city with its distinctive structure and leading-edge sustainability features, becoming its fourth tallest building.
And Asian buyers are lining up to get a piece of action.
Located in one of the world's most beautiful and livable cities, the development by Westbank Corp is ideally situated between the seawall-ringed inner harbor of False Creek in the heart of Vancouver and the wide open vistas across English Bay to the Gulf Islands and the open Pacific Ocean.
As Canada's leading luxury residential and mixed-use real estate development company, Westbank is focusing more on buyers who can contribute to the vibrant and growing neighborhood in its latest venture, reported the Hong Kong Standard.
About 25 percent of the homes at Vancouver House will be targeted at Hong Kong buyers, especially end users. And 70 percent of the whole project is sold out already, the paper said.
Visually impressive, the entire development, spanning more than 710,000 square feet, boasts a 52-story residential tower containing 388 apartments, plus three triangular retail- commercial blocks.
The prismatic new commercial- office buildings are nestled below the north end of Granville Bridge, the heart of the city's most dynamic core neighborhood, Beach District.
Vancouver House embraces leading-edge sustainability throughout, and will be among the world's first LEED (leadership in energy and environmental design) platinum-certified residential high-rises upon completion in 2018.
The development will also provide micro-filtered air and water throughout, to ensure a better quality of life for residents.
At home, urbanites will be able to enjoy the best of indoor-outdoor living, thanks to spacious outdoor terraces.
Complete with ceramic-tiled decks and copper feature walls, the terraces will be the ideal place to take in the breathtaking views, be it the nighttime urban panorama or a natural vista of the mountains and the Pacific.
A swimming pool and comprehensive wellness center with a variety of fitness and health options are also just a lift ride away.
An exhibition for Asian buyers was held last weekend at York House in Hong Kong.
Vancouver House units were available for sale locally on July 24, with the first sales events to be transacted in China on July 26.
Vancouver House has been actively marketed through advertising in Vancouver since the start of 2014. The media and advertising campaigns for Asia and other global markets did not begin until later this year.
